Simón Bolívar International Airport of Maiquetia, ICAO: SVMI is an international airport located in Maiquetia, Venezuela which is about 13kms from Caracas. It is the busiest international airport in the country with two runways; 10/28 @ 11,438ft and 09/27 @ 9,930ft. As a point of interest both runways are sloped but runway 09/27’s slope is quite noticeable having a difference in elevation of 129ft. In 2011 just under 10 million passengers passed through the airport’s facilities.

In order to make compatible to FSX some of your FS2004 addons, you may use Addon Converter X.
This FlightSim Tools plugin exists in version 1.07 as the latest, to be compatible with Flight1′s Airport Studio and bring a better stability on some PCs running Windows 7.
If you’re already a regular user of FS Captain tool, this shouldn’t be considered as fresh news at all.
This update has been available for weeks already, it’s better an opportunity to bring some more light on this career and passengers rating solution.
In its last version 1.3.1, FSCaptain can “review or add winds aloft data in detail”, “cancel or divert a flight”, “plan multi-legs flight”, and even other new features implemented and bugs fixed.
Nemeth Designs and MilViz have released their latest model, the Boeing Vertol CH-47 Chinook heavy lift helicopter, through simMarket.
The Chinook is, without doubt, an aviation icon. Developed in the early 1960s, the twin-rotor workhorse has seen action in many military roles around the entire globe, has flown as a heliliner, done logging duties, search and rescue… There’s actually very little that the aircraft has not done over the years and often in situations where a single-rotor aircraft could not have operated.
The Nemeth Designs aircraft requires FSX plus the Acceleration add-on pack to function and represents the “D” model of the aircraft. It is fitted with an interactive VC that includes a working AFCS (automatic flight control system) and a Sonic Solutions sound set. For full details and to purchase, click here.
It’s worth putting up that video again, we think, to advertise the addition of Shovsoft’s “Lunar Flight” to simMarket’s catalogue.
If you’re after a break from the norm, a trip to the moon might be just the ticket and Lunar Flight gives you the opportunity to try your hand in a fictionalised, but fun, lunar lander module as you fly cargo, survey and recovery missions in a graphically wonderful environment with authentic Newtonian physics.
Also featuring the ability to purchase upgrades for your lander using mission based income and ‘time trial’ tests of piloting skill, the sim can be found here.
In honour of the developer’s birthday, JRollon‘s award-winning CRJ-200 airliner for X-Plane is on half price sale until 20th May 2012.
The little Canadian jet is in use around the world as a short-haul commuter or feeder aircraft and JRollon’s version for XP9.55+ (some features require XP10) includes a functional cockpit, FMS and numerous upgrades over ‘base spec’ X-Plane models. Check it out here.
When I say “Dangerous approach”, what airport do you think of? I personally think of Kai Tak, in Hong Kong. That must be one of the most well known approaches in the world. It’s not hard to understand why, either. A fully loaded Boeing 747, turning at a slow speed, ...
It's a dilemma I face all the time. I need a place to fly and it needs to be quick. Like many flight simmers, I seem to always be pressed for time, or I sit down at my desk unsure of how long I'll be able to devote to flying. ...
Three things make this a stupid airport to even try and land on... and that’s why you’ll love it. First, the altitude is 9,527ft. Second, there are mountains and steep hills on the path to both runways. Third, the location looks like a place for a really challenging golf course ...
What better way to broaden your horizons than to fly to new destinations. Polish Airports Vol 1 gives you just that type of opportunity if you're one of those pilots that like to stick to familiar territory. With this offering from Drzewiecki Design you get three airports; Katowice Pyrowice (EPKT), ...
Quick Summary: In the past Pacific Island Simulations have given us some excellent scenery in the remote Pacific Ocean and now after producing the stunning Ingalls Field have now developed VFR Appalachia. Â It covers most of what is called Appalachia in the USA, and includes 6 rural and ...
UK2000 have recently released a very detailed addon of the London City airport for both FS2004 and FSX; my review is of the FSX product.
The London City airport (ICAO: EGLC) is a relatively young airport having been officially opened in 1988. It is the fifth busiest of the London area ...
Los Cabos, Mexico, is one of those tourist spots that you don’t think about when travelling to Mexico. However, it’s sister city of Cabo San Lucas is probably more familiar to you. Bajasim has dropped a fresh look to airport scenery add-on’s that I’m going to show you for MMSD ...
This is a very nice piece of software that replaces all of the ground vehicles in FSX and replaces them with new 3-D models. At present the vehicles only work in airports in Germany, Sweden, Norway and Denmark and are partly animated (FSX SDK allowing). They are also visible at ...
FSADDON have done it again, they have produced a very nice model of the WWII Special Operations Westland Lysander III.
It wasn’t called the “The Flying Carrot” for nothing, that’s not only due to its shape, but also due to the fact that its pilots needed enhanced vision to fly this ...
FSPS Flight Simulator Manager (FSM) is more of an analyzer than a manager and I suspect 95% of the users will find it to be the same. It is an application that runs separate from FS9/FSX and feeds you data collected from flight sim’s various modules and allows you to ...
